.....never liked crunchy peanut butter,it would tear up the bread when I spread it on,hated that....and the only other thing I've put peanut butter on is celery stalks.
Yes, any regular spread straight out of the fridge, such as butter, margarine, peanut butter, marmite etc, all play havoc with regular untoasted soft bread. I've got a little tip for you.

Put the tub of spread in the microwave for like literally 5 seconds. I find even a very short blitz loosens the spread up. But don't forget you've put it in the microwave, any spread usually turns very watery, and quickly!....don't ask how I know, lol.

Well,I don't even store those items in the fridge,I keep them out on the counter at room temperature and they spread smoothly.
Btw,what is marmite?

If I remember rightly when I was in Florida years ago (my mother in law owns a holiday home over there), she had to take marmite over with her because it wasn't readily available in the states.

Marmite is one of those spreads that you either love, or hate, there's no in-between with this spread, lol.
