New pick up

I just picked up this hybrid. It kind of resembles my SRM in behavior etc being hyper aggressive. However it's eyes are dark and body has a pink hue to it. Any ideas what it may be?

Looked like a washed out SRM due to stress. Give it a couple days.

Could it be a rose queen, or would one have a pointier snout?

I don't think it is a rose queen, was leaning more SRM due to the similarity to my male. However mouth is different and he has never shown pink or black.

I will let her settle in, she is housed next to a female flowerhorn both posturing. I will search for a suitable male but knowing that SRM are duds what is a good match for her?

Here is a photo of it now, taken on iPad but the colour definitely more pink. This is when it is fired up. Neighbour is a male srd and shows more male traits now. Any ideas what it could be?

Not SRM or RQ, parrot hybrid of some sort, but no telling exactly what unless you know the source of the parent fish.

thats true. I have a SRM and there is nothing in common other than aggression. RQ I have seen for sale were more amph shaped. This fish apparently was imported then sold once to me. I think I will just give it its own space now and see how it grows.

If it was imported, the overseas vendor would have supplied whatever brand/name they assigned to the fish. Seems like an odd fish for someone to import.

Just to be clear, I still think that it's a great looking hybrid.
