Recently got some red tiger severum, fish store indicated they are wild caught but I did some research and think there are something wrong from fish store owner’s saying, the research I did says wild caught one’s stripe should be straight and in intermittent, what do you think?

They are likely Heros severus. The bars are correct -- most Heros severus have a half-seventh bar as some of yours show. But in my F1 fry I also get fish that are totally missing the half bar, or the half bar appears on a bar other than bar seven. So there is a lot of variation in that.

I'm not sure if they are wild-caught or not. The last picture appears to show a fish with an underdeveloped upper lip, which I would expect to see in tank-bred fish, though it's entirely possible those deformities show up in wilds too.

Do not look like Tiger Severums. The seventh bar is either short or or touching the one of the other bars to make it look like a Y

They are severus/red tigers. The barring is highly variable in F1 fish. I was the first person in the US to import and breed these, so I have worked with them extensively for 7 years now. They have a very specific body shape and color development that these fish exhibit.

I just saw these labeled as wild caught fish at the Aquarium Center in Clementon NJ today. They were the nicest Severum I have ever seen. Nice buy.

Beautiful fish, extremely jealous! I really would love a pair of these for my Amazonian Cichlid aquarium, but they seem to be non existent in Western Australia! Will definitely be keeping an eye out for updates on these :headbang2
