I found out the other day that the long awaited Avatar 2 is coming out in Dec this year in the UK. The trailer looks like it's going to be another CGI special effects bonanza.

Apparently the franchise is eventually going to serve us up FIVE Avatar movies, with Avatar 5, the last one, due out Dec 2028.

Watched avatar last Saturday. Really cool movie, I could imagine why it’s the most successful movie ever.

That's what they say for now. If the sequels gross big money Avatar will go on like Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and the Halloween movies for example lol.
I always thought Avatar was just a stand alone movie, a one off. I've since found out that James Cameron always had the Avatar "story" in his head but reckoned it'd take about five movies to complete the full story. So he must have had the franchise idea in his head before the first one even came out back in 2009.

It's not done and dusted yet though because if Avatar 2 flops then there is a good chance 3,4 and 5 will never happen. And then on the other hand, like you said, if they are all block busters, then even more could be dreamt up to satisfy the cash cow franchise.

Apparently it’s been in the works since the first one came out.
I’ll be interested to see it, but outside of the outstanding effects for the time, I honestly don’t see anything amazing about the first one. Good, but really a glorified cowboys vs Native Americans story.
Disney World did a really good job with it though!

I love a film with spectacular CGI's, and Avatar is one of the best imo.

I'm guessing that the CGI's were equally impressive in "aquarium of the dead" tlindsey tlindsey . Lol.

Obi Wan mini series starts later this month....time to resubscribe with Disney+.
I really hope it’s good…
After Boba Fett I’m worried, but Ewan always was the best part of the prequels.

Book of Fett was okay.I wasn't excited about the Obi Wan series when I first heard that they were doing it but the trailer looks promising.

I rang Sky a few months ago because I was planning on reducing my monthly bill by scrapping some of the channels that aren't watched much in our house. Obviously they didn't want to lose any business so they offered me Disney+ free of charge as a sweetener.

But I don't really bother with it that much. I might have a better look through it later if you guys are saying there's some good stuff on it.
