saw this guy at my local store… trying to ID the type of lungfish as the store jsur labeled it “African” and they said they didn’t have any documentation of the type in the computers. I tried my best to get a pic… can this be ID by Anhome? gilled African? West African? They said he’s at least 6 months maybe more.

Without better photos, I'm going to assume it's a Protopterus annectens (West African Lungfish). Those are the most common ones at LFS around the world.

I’m going to try and go back and ask if they can take the tank out the bottom rack for better pics. I’ll reply back once I got them.

How much? WAL’s are usually the cheapest. Often as low as $30-40. Might help decipher unless the store is overpriced lol…

+1… definitely a WAL p. Annectens… should expect to pay $30-80… IMO best housed alone or with fish u don’t care about being cut in half or eaten lol… some people have success co habbing them with “community” style tank mates. Ive had multiple lungs and they all enjoyed choppin up tank mates from time to time once they hit 18”+
