They are definitely harder to obtain now. Since the market in SG is pretty dead, probably could get the turkana senegal for pretty cheap. I would get it if I were you.

few more months and it’ll be 3 years with this Turkana senegal. I wonder if she’ll grow more. She’s kind of a picky eater, mainly only likes to eat pellets. She’s still about 15.5”.

Quick update. Been little over 3 years now! I hope she will grow length wise still. She seems to have gotten thicker lately.

How big is she now?

I saw a couple on Ebay that were supposedly Turkanas, and almost pulled the trigger before my sanity caught up.

She hasn't grown still about 15.5"-16". I bought a couple new ones few months ago, those are slowly catching up to her in length. Hopefully one of those new ones will hit 17”-18” one day. 🫡
But yeah the ones on eBay are the ones my friend imported, also where I got mine. They are one of the rarest bichirs out there. Definitely should pull the trigger if you have the opportunity.

On eBay, the ones being sold by fish station? If you're backing the authenticity then I definitely will pull the trigger. Ngl, I only stopped because I was worried about them truly being Turkana, since eBay is really hit or miss.
