My second ropefish got attacked by my other ropefish on his tail. I had to separate them because they didn’t stop fighting and also to let the wounds heal. Quite soon the scales became more white and started growing a fuzz. I have been using eSHa 2000 for almost two weeks now and do not see any improvement, rather an increase in fuzz. I’ve honestly never seen this kind of disease/fuzz on any of my own fish before so I’m worried I’m not treating him with the right stuff. Am even considering bringing him to the vet to get him treated but I’m also worried that whole ride will get him
more stressed out and will weaken his immune system more. Overall he eats really well and is super active.

I was thinking it’s a cotton wool disease.
What can I do? I don’t want to lose him and am willing to do whatever it takes.

The first photo is on the 31st of October, second photo on the 10th of November and the third is taken on the 14th of November.

Looks like a bacterial infection has set in - I would try treating with in a qt with a broad spectrum antibiotic like kanaplex.

Thank you so much for your advice. Kanaplex is not readily available where I’m from it could take up to January next year before I’d receive it by mail. Do you have any suggestions for any good working alternatives? I’m from Europe so unfortunately some products are harder to get here.
