A new start for my main tank?

I've occasionally toyed with the idea of making my own beer; still might give it a go now that I am retired and have lots of time. But I have a good friend who not only makes it and provides me with all I need, but more importantly he loves the process and is always experimenting with new and interesting recipes. Many I find undrinkable, but there are several he makes that put virtually any commercial beer to shame. His Milk Stout and Oatmeal Stout are amazing, with a flavour that matches or exceeds my favourite Guinness; his only downfall is the inability to use those cool little carbonating inserts that fizz up each bottle as it is opened. Even without those, the head on his Stouts can practically be eaten with a spoon. Incredible beer! When you take a sip of beer and end up with what looks like a "mild moustache", you know you're onto something special!

He also makes a terrific Fat Tire, and labels the bottles he puts up for me Fat'n'Tired. :)

I won't live long enough to match his craftsmanship, so...why try? My innate thriftiness will force me to drink up anything I make...so odds are that I will be drinking absolute crap instead of my buddy's heavenly brews. No thanks.

Sure, easy for you to say...but even you with your penchant and skill for naming fish petered out after #9 and skipped right ahead to the end!

For the record: I love Dis and Dat, and would add The Udder Ting to make it a trio. My Dad would have loved that!

Maybe I will rely upon my granddaughters after all to provide names. The older (10) came up with the name We Are Groot for a bunch of indistinguishable baby leeches spawned in one of my tanks. This was in response to a friend who pegged my then-gigantic school of Rosy Reds, probably numbering well over 2000 at that point, with the moniker The Borg.

I am going to suggest a similar sort of "group name" and see what she comes up with. She never fails to amuse and surprise, so this should be good. :)

Wow! I hadn't realized that you left that gigantic critter hanging in place after taking its pic!

I couldn't do that. After snapping the pic I would have caught it and relocated to a far-distant location, at least giving it a chance to survive.

If my wife found a spider the size of an emaciated hamster anywhere near or...heaven forbid... inside the house...I'd be patching a shotgun-blast-sized round hole in a wall or ceiling. :)
Well I thot those other names were pretty good! So no need to edit ALL of 'em.

Got a new list of names for them; I've already assigned my granddaughter her task of coming up with something, so may or may not use these depending upon how seriously she takes her mission....but she usually takes them very seriously.....

But just in case, FINWIN FINWIN , whaddaya think of this roster of names...which may become more and more appropriate as time passes:

1. Hamburger
2. Cheesburger
3. Baconburger
4. Banquetburger
5. Fries
6. Curly Fries
7. Hot Dog
8. Chili Dog
9. Whistle Dog
10. Poutine
11. Nacho
12. Taco
13. Burrito
14. Enchilada
15. Tostada
16. Chimichanga
17. Tamale
18. Perogy
19. Egg Roll
20. Dumpling
21. Fred

I'm especially fond of Nacho, Tamale, and Fred. I think it's some of my best work. And if I actually break down and buy a Shubunkin, which is starting to feel disturbingly possible, I'm thinking "Borscht". :)

Oh, by the way, Trouser Cough Trouser Cough , in case you're looking at the time stamp and thinking that it's pretty early to be into the Guinness...you're right! But I actually put the list together last night...prime Guinness time...just didn't hit the Send button till this morning. :)

Cant speak for duanes but i also practice relocation with spiders.
I do too! And if the process goes as planned, everybody leaves happy.

But...if I'm trying to rehome a spider the size of a chipmunk from my home...and the dang thing grabs the broomstick out of my hand and starts whaling on me...neither of us leaves happy...

There can be only one! :headbang2

She didn't like my attitude, and snuck down and got me.
My Dutch neighbors, named her Jackie.

Someday we'll see footage of duanes duanes being slowly dragged into the water by an unknown creature yelling "IT'S JUST A NIBBLE. NO BIG DEAL!"

Well, I gotta say, you're not as tough a scorer as I expected. But, honestly, I thought that Perogy would do better than a mere single star. :)

The extra half-star for Nacho is a nice touch. :)

This is legit the funniest convo I've read on here for a while. Now I want Goldfish so I can let you two name them LOL
Whoa, whoa, whoa...whaddaya mean "let you two name them"???

FINWIN FINWIN and I may begin our journey with a fish in a bag...and end it at the same point, with a hopefully healthy fish living in a hopefully clean well-maintained tank...but we tend to take wildly different paths to progress from Point A to Point B. We have such divergent ideas about how to do things that we each manage to convince ourselves that we are taking the shortest, most-direct straightline path. You know...high road, low road...like that.

FINWIN FINWIN looks at a tank like mine and says "Goldfish need love too!"

I look at that tank and say "You guys better watch your P's and Q's, or else I will introduce you to my friend Lumpy..."

Potato, potahto.

What makes you think that we are going to put our diametrically-opposed heads together to do all that work for you?
