Got my new wavemaker and WOW what a difference. Broader flow of water and on the lowest setting it is as powerful as my old "1600" GPH one. Currently running it on 2/6 and moves the stuff up off the bottom across entire bottom of tank. It's setup on same side as filter intake about 1/4 way down aimed at the surface.
Great surface agitation too so finally got rid of the ugly sponge filter! Tank has continued to clear up all day, almost crystal again! Took the UV sterilizer out and added some 50 micron floss to the filter.
I'll probably throw an air stone on a backup battery hidden somewhere just in case power goes out when we're out of town though.
