Yes.Ours maxed out at around 13". Dats seem to be shy fish apart from the situation when a tank mate might fit in their mouth.
No. (Much as though I respect your knowledge.)The problem with silver dat is that most usually people (us included) lose them after some years in fresh water. They need to transition to brackish, they are the only ones like that, that I know of among the dats. You can read it all in this thread earlier for more details.
Hi Viktor! Stumbled across this. My is it called American Silver Datnoid? What does America mean in its name? Also saw the video last night and I’m excited about how big those Nike Perch will get.I know I am a dat fan, but those two seem to outshine (IMO) everything else in the tank.
I've suspected something along the lines that the silver "American Tigers" are the least favored dats by collectors in Asia and as such were probably the first to be readily offered up to be shipped here many years ago.IDK why it has "American" in the name. It's strange to me too.
