I thought we already have a "do not like" emoji in the reactions emoji list. Isn't that what the angry face emoji is for?

The reaction emoji list is quite useful if you just want to show your appreciation, or otherwise, of a post, without actually typing anything out.

What I don't understand though is why we have to a running count of reactions. I have a daft amount of reactions to posts count, why? It serves no purpose to have a running count imo.
Not exactly the same thing. One can disagree, without being angry. Also, the option should be located side by side with the thumbs up. reply function needs to be accessed in order to get emoji. No need with Like. Just click, and off you go…

Running counts are kinda funny, seeing some members have been here a decade or more before the like feature even existed.
I initially thought it was pointless and stupid, now I see a use in it, but also see a use in a quick thumbs down option.

Btw…… when I first asked about this in 2016-2017, the idea was shot down by admin. At that time Justin & Rob were the only real admin here, now both gone so thought it might be worth another kick at the can.

The "like" option is ok to agree with someone without the need to waffle on and express why you've liked their post. And the person who receives the like may feel all warm and fuzzy inside for a while, lol.

But you know what's going to happen if we have a "dislike" option don't you? Those of us without thick skins are going to want to know what the reason is behind a thumbs down, the snowflakes amongst us will be horrified and all out verbal carnage could ensue, just because they got a little thumbs down emoji! Lol.

You just know it's going to happen, or is this you just being impish RD. RD. Lol.

I like the idea of giving someone a thumbs down when deserved, followed by a good verbal put down .
@RD you are the king of verbal put downs, I would hate to see that satire replaced by just a thumbs down.

A simple thumbs down emoji would be pretty lame. I imagine something like this would be better, we could even change Clints face for Billy Jacks!!

Thumbs down could be used for more sensitive folks, young-uns, the elderly (no offense Jeff) etc. A gentler approach. And for those looking for a more hands on debate style, well that can continue on as it has since this sites inception.

How about a button that just says Bollocks? With a relevant icon too.
Great idea. Would the icon be of a pair of old dangly hairy bollocks, that many of us older gentlemen have, or the nice tight smooth well groomed variety that the younger guys prefer?🤔
