I got a Congo spotted puffer on tuesday and she mostly glass surfs. She does take breaks to go hunt snails and ive witnessed her chomping down. Also the tank is heavily planted with ample caves. 75 gallons. How long does it take them to settle down? 1000041368.jpg

Puffers are pretty nervous fish, it could be days, weeks, or months.
These guys are schoolers so having more would help.

Would a group of 3 be sufficient?
It should be good - more is always better but 3 is a fine size (especially since they are so expensive).

Alright i scooped up 2 more. Hopefully they all settle in and get along. Ill have to save up to get a proper school of 8

Okay so 24 hours in we had no problems it seemed until feeding time. Little bit of post feeding aggression. They arent chasing other tank inhabitants though. I guess theyre going to establish a bit of a pecking order?

So one puffer is sort of tormenting the other 2. Im going to put it in a fry net timeout for a few hours see if that gives them a chance to settle down.

What’s the behavior look like?
Breeding behavior for them is biting on the female and holding on.
