Nano fish/ shrimp tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You can add KH generator crystals, or add some buffering rocks, crushed coral in the filter. Add a little test in a week, add a bit more etc until you get a stabilised increase. Don’t add all at once or the shrimp will die.
Thank you! I will find some and add to my tank. I will give an update in about a week

Cheapest option is limestone rocks from the garden supplier.

How 'bout seashells?
A sunbleached conch shell or oyster shell (mass of?) might be lovely & get those buffering & micronutrient jobs done nicely.

My first horribly overpriced blue shrimp trial (same sort of thing as OP, but on as island) has now moved from the 1gal Tupperware to the 20gal with lemon-tetras (another long-term & totally unsuccessful breed-trial). Also ostracod & a mystery snail. System-habitats include long-dead branching coral, fully rotted/clean sea-sponges (various) & various water-plants including rooted overwater passion-vine, along with urchin casts, freshwater mollusc shells various, a bit of Halimeda "oats" sand & coconut & bamboo halves: a veritable cornucopia of graze-able surfaces.
