I am looking for 1-2 fish that can live in my 29-gallon for its whole life. They don't need to be the same species.
Please note I said 1 or 2, I'm not looking for a school. They shouldn't be teeny little fish, looking for something good sized.
Needs to be relatively easy to keep, easy to find, and is less than $20.
The filter is an Aquaclear 70 so there will be decent flow.
NO SUBSTRATE
and minimal/no decorations.

Some things I have thought of (not sure if all are suitable in my tank):

Option 1: One Firemouth Cichlid
Option 2: One Fancy Goldfish
Option 3: One Peacock Spiny Eel
Option 4: One Convict Cichlid

Any other options you can think of? Thanks

You could probably do a pair of convicts or fire mouths, or one of each. They probably would need a lot of decorations to curb aggression though.

Can do a puffer. Like a pea puffer, would have to do 3+ for a few of them. Could also do Gouramis.

Thanks! Would 1 firemouth be able to live in the tank alone, bare bottom and minimal deco? I never kept cichlids apart from rams, so I don't know much about them.
