Nice 7poiter But not sao Felix super red. Sao Felix tail has 85% plus red also dorsal fin would have more amount of red too. I hope you didn’t pay sao Felix price because you would have taken a “L” on this 7pointer

Thanks Rotary,

Don't worry, I didn't buy it as a "super red" Just as a regular L025 7 pointer collected from Sao Felix.

But looks like I may have gotten duped by a well known vendor if all Sao Felix are supposed to be super red. Since it was sold to me as a Sao Felix and it doesn't meet the criteria of 85% tail and more red on the dorsal.

I figured I knew a lot after keeping plecos for 15 years but I never even knew that ALL Sao Felix were Super red.

I always figured that Sao Felix was the geographical location of collection (which has slightly nicer L025s) and a super red was a variant (much lower percentage) within the plecos collected from this area.

It is always nice to learn that these fish have such tight genetics to be able to have so little variation and all L025 from sao felix have at least 85% coverage in the tail. Any idea what the exact percentage in the Dorsal should be?

Ill add this to my library of knowledge.

Very interesting. I just purchased this one on Saturday. Is it safe to say it’s Sao Felix? Just curious.

Beautiful fish. How do you sex them?

Freddy, Beautiful specimen

Previously, I would have called that beauty a Sao Felix "Super Red"

But, I guess we don't need to call then "super red" anymore since apparently all Sao Felix should be super red like yours.
