I just set up a 125 gallon aquarium and it appears that my floor is uneven. The water level is approximately 1/4" lower on the RT side of the tank as compared with the left. I used a level and although the bubble is in the center mark it just slightly RT of center confirming what I am seeing. I would say it's actually about one hash mark under 1/4" difference.

The tank and stand are on carpet.

Question #1. Would you shim the left side of tank stand to make up the 1/4" difference?

Question #2. I was considering using quarters to achieve this. Would that work?

Thank you for any advice or direction to previous threads as I could not find any regarding a 6 foot 125 aquarium.

if the water is lower on the right than that's where you'd shim. not sure why your bubble level is showing that the bubble is off to the right. it should be off to the left. unless you live in a vortex.

If the water is lower on the Right you want to shim the opposite side. NOT the same side.

Take a bottle of water and tilt it back and forth and you will get it.

Anyone have opinion on if 1/4" difference is to much with a 72" 125 gallon?

is the tank full? if not id check to see if the stand is level without the tank on it. also look under the stand see if theres a gap between the floor and stand. then shim that out until the stand is level. this is harder to do if its on carpet. is the tank glass or acrylic?

Tank full. Glass.

I used level on stand before I placed tank on it and the Buble was dead center. But now with the tank full the water level appear just under 1/4" lower on RIGT side.

When I place the level on the tank upper trim in various spots the bubble is just slightly to the left.

I think the sub floor is just slightly uneven, but the carpet threw off the true difference because the stand is light and now with water and tank on it the slightly uneven floor is apparent.

Is just under 1/4" a big deal?

Thanks

I'm not 100% certain about the bubble orientation as I'm at work and doing this by memory.

I and certain about the water level being lower on the RT side of tank as compared to the Left side.

I'm just considering if it's worth shimming the Left side of stand under the carpet to bring up the water level on the RT side 1/4" or is it a waste of time?

Thanks

I've had tanks off by 1/4" or slightly more with no ill effects BUT people here are pretty hardcore about leveling a tank. in reality most tanks are off. my 125 6' is off by about an 1/8" and its not had an issue in 5yrs.
