1000002116.jpgAs my trimac gets bigger (6 inches), the tank just has been, not an eyesore, but needs some up lifting per day. Think I may need to grab some artificial plants and get some color in there.

If you don't mind your Trimac moving the fake plants to where ever he/she wants them, its cool but as I'm sure you known big cichlids rearrange tanks to how they like it "not you"

I have him trained to do my bidding 🤣

Yea that's why I'd rather use fake plants. He can move whatever he wants, it's his tank and we'll, "cichlid" lol. Tank just looks like it could use some color.

To me, live terrestrial plants that hang from above the surface would be the best option, for their ability to use nutrients, and overhang the shallow waters where they are found in nature.

They also inhabit brackish waters where mangrove trees are found, and could be an option planted in the aquarium, lit from above.

Wasn't looking to use any live plants. I do large enough water changes now to keep nitrates below 5-10ppm. The use of artificial plants was to add some color and scenery to the rocks and wood. But the mangrove roots look amazing

Flukers reptile vines are great. Amazon has them. Come in green, deep red and purple.

Also, this seller on Ebay has extremely realistic plants and can custom make. Go to Ebay and do a search on this seller: lower40farminc

lots of options and colors
