Hi guys,
So I got an upgraded system recently for my fish.
I have 6 x geos tapojas, 2 x severum, 2 polyptrus senegalus.
Tank is 130 gal (1.8m x 50cm depth x 60cm height). Filter is 2 x sun sun canister filters, 2000L per hour each. Plus an internal powerhead filter.
I originally got this tank to upgrade from the 5ft I was keeping them all in as this size is more appropriate for adult specimens.
However the roots I have growing from the pothos now grows directly into the tank (the new tank has glass lid only, in the old 5ft the roots used to grow into the wetdry filter on the top in the lid).
So the sevs are now munching on the roots of the plants.
I may have to rehome these sevs cause I really like having the plants there and growing up my wall.
Do you have any suggestions on tank mates for the geos? I’m not sure if there is space to get more geos too?
I would ideally like to stick to another largish South American cichlid (that wont eat my roots or invaded the geos and poly space at the bottom of the tank), but it’s not essential.
Other options I was thinking of
-Group of angelfish
-group of pearl gouramis/other gouramis
-large school of smaller tetras/other shoaling fish
-discus?
Any other suggestions?
