Here is a pic of the big tank progress. There is a pic of how I am filling the gaps between the studs on the front for the finished look of the front. I plan on doing it like this all the way across and then will be staining it, and sealing it with some kind of clear sealant. Also plywood on the inside.

Now that my friend is an up date! See, now I'm happy, and that's all that matters :D

Just remember, we're mostly guys on here and guys are visual creatures. We like pictures in books. And for the women reading this thread, well, you're just cool, so I'm sure you'll like the pictures too :D
The only thing better than a good picture update for a guy ... is a picture update with women in it for guys  oh yeah and don't forget the fishy stuff either

Man that looks great..
Thanks! The only reason I'm filling the gaps in the front and not plywooding it is that I had the members here take a vote, and they said I should leave the front just 2x4s. So my thing is now I have to make it look nice as this is gonna be my show tank lol.

keep the updates comin so far so good
Thanks, was kinda hard for me to go out there and work on it after losing so many nice fish this month. I'm looking into getting a few more though so it's all good. I'm gonna spend my birthday just making sure that all the woodwork and holes are finished. Gonna try to get the ouside stained to probably. There's still lots of woodworking to be done!

I'm looking into getting a niger, and a flavicans. Some more monsters for this tank!!! Money is tight, but I figure now that I'm a regular plasma doner, and have some tanks to clean I can save the money up relatively quick. I'm giving myself a drop dead deadline to have this tank finished by the one year mark! That means fish in the tank for me. I just want to have it sealed with water, fish, a temporary filter and lighting. Then I can spend some time really finishing the filter, and lighting to make sure I have everything the way I want it. I'm gonna build a box around the sump and insulate it so that it holds it's heat well. I've done it before with the 350 gal pond, and the heater barely ever has to run except when you open the lid.

Now for revenge I think that since my wife's cat ate my fish, I should feed her cat to the big boy! All in favor???

Here's one of my new babies!

take a pic of the jau and fila pls
Here's the latest pics of them. The jau is still in the 50ish gal pond in the garage. So hard to get a good pic of him in there. Probably like 14-15" right now. The fila is around 13-14", but he ran into some trouble. He got a swim bladder infection and was floating on top of his tank for a while. After about 3 days of treatment for basically everything you can think of, he sank to the bottom, but was upside down for another 5 days. During that time he rubbed a ton of skin off his sides, and eroded his fins and whiskers down. Now he's doing better, but still wobbles when he swims and shows no regard for food yet. It's been two weeks since I found him like that, and I'm just glad that I was able to save him so far. The skin and fins are almost healed, but I'm not sure that the whiskers will ever grow back seeing as how they were eroded down to the bone! I'm still treating him for bacterial infections, fin and tail rot(precautionary), and doing a mild salt treatment for his wounds. He's healing fast, and I'm not going to try and feed him again for another 2 weeks to make sure everything is a go with the bladder.:(there's two pics of the fila, one is the first day he was upright again, and the other was yesterday. Notice how much healthier the skin looks in the second pic.
