VA Beach
We have a very large, hybrid tiger shovel nose/red-tail catfish for sale, looks more like a tiger shovel nose.
Very cool hybrid mix!
He is in the 180 gallon currently & out-growing it fast.
He is now at about 23 inches & will need about a 300 gallon or larger to reside in comfortably.
Currently he is eating raw beef, earth worms -&- pretty much any other type of carnivore fish food a very large rate...

Asking $100 O.B.O

We are in Virginia Beach, VA for pick-up.

Shipping him may be a costly venture as he is quite big and I couldn't give an honest estimate how much it would cost to ship him...

Please call Jim @ 757-773-3636 for further details...

Thanks!

Hey there,

That is actually a Sorubimichthys planiceps aka Planiceps Shovelnose catfish. They are a naturally occurring species. The one you have is an exceptional specimen. I have been looking for one for sometime now. Its a shame you're not closer. Good luck with the sale.

Pretty cool fun facts about this catfish:

Firewood catfish
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The firewood catfish, Sorubimichthys planiceps, a species of South American pimelodid catfish, is the sole member of the genus Sorubimichthys. Known by locals along the Amazon basin as Peixe-lenha,[1] the Firewood catfish is so called because it is of little eating value and is often dried and used for firewood.[2]

Oh, ok, thanks guys for clarifying it... seems I've had issues with a few of the pet stores around here naming fish wrong.
I appreciate the clarification! :)
