So the first picture is of a drawing of my acrylic aquarium looking from the top down and the placement of the drilled holes on the bottom of it.

The previous owner has the water leave the tank by the four yellow holes and plumbed into two canister filters. The orange holes are where the water returned to the tank. I am thinking that I should do the same with my set up. But I am replacing all the PVC plumbing into the two canister filters. I am also eventually going to get a Fluidized Sand Bed Filter and hook that up to one of the canisters and a UV Sterilizer and hook that up to the second canister.

So I have already purchased new bulkheads. I also need to purchase new strainers. The previous owner made his out of PVC piping and they are quite ugly. He hid them with plants and decorations. As I am planning on having a bare bottom tank with little to no decoration, I want something a bit more neat and clean looking. So I am wondering if the lifegard low profile suction strainer would work in the yellow holes. Or should I do the high capacity suction screens? Maybe a combination? Pictures are attached. I would love to know people's opinions that have a similar setup.

Aren't you covering the bottom with black acrylic? If so you may be opening yourself up for leaks unless you REALLY seal around those holes between the acrylic..... But that being said, yes the low profile should be fine, I use them to keep snails out of my pump from my refugium.

Yes... I am gluing with Weldon 40 black acrylic sheets to the bottom covering the holes. Then I will drill through the black acrylic where the old holes are. The current jokes are 2 inches in diameter. I might drill the new holes a bit smaller. Guess I'll make that decision when I cross that bridge.

I would be concerned with the leaking possibly between the old and new pieces, but I'm not an acrylic guy. I've only dealt with a few custom sumps, not a tank fix like your doing.......... Good luck with it!!

How di you figure it will leak?

I may just be paranoid and like I said I'm not an acrylic expert by any stretch..... But I would error on the side of caution rather than end up with 300 gallons on my floor.... Wednesday would know more about this than me though.

JEHMCO sells a low profile, high capacity strainer. Not as low as what you show, but equivalent capacity as those tall ones

the only thing that would make it leak is a rip in the bulkhead gasket or not getting the bottom ice of acrylic sitting completely flat on the bottom of the tank. It would have to be very off to effect the bulkhead tho.
