40 gallon stocking idea

Hi I am wondering what I could put in an 40 gallon breeder comfortably for it's entire life. Any ideas are welcome.

Well there are a lot of options, it would help us to know what type of fish you like. Do you want something like a show piece, schooling, nano, bottom dweller, aggressive, etc?

A school of schooling fish and a centerpeice fish (or a pair) would be nice
