Hi everyone, I'm new here and was hoping for some advice.
We are getting ready to set up another tank.

I have a spare 40b and my husband has his heart set on a Rainbow Shark and 3 Golden Dojo Loaches. I would like to have a Paradise Fish.

Would it be possible to keep these fish happy and comfortable in a 40b both size and compatibility wise?

There will be multiple caves/hides and many tough anchored down plants like java ferns.

Thank you for any input.

You should be alright with those fish. The rainbow shark is a peaceable enough fish. The dojos are a bit more territorial but will likely focus on each other more than the rainbow. Since paradise fish are not really bottom dwellers he should be OK too. I think you may want to consider some danios if there are disputes. They are fast and ever active and can act as dithers. Good luck.

Thanks! I appreciate the info, I've been trying to look up information since yesterday but kept getting so much conflicting information and almost nothing about keeping the three together.

I will keep the danios in mind if I have trouble.. How many would you recommend?

So....

Could I add a long finned bristlenose pleco to this mix? Or too many bottom dwellers?
