I just installed a drip on my 450. I'm not sure how much turnover I want. Tank will have big dirty fish. Does anyone have a video of the water coming into a similar setup? Ty

My rule of thumb for starters/average is 1gph per 100gal… depending on stocks ive done as much as 3-4gph per 100gal as well. Current tanks are 450g at 4gph, 500g at 6gph, 230g at 2gph, and 650g at 4gph.. just keep testing ur water until u get the nitrate levels u see fit. I keep mine under 5ppm. If ur just guessing. Run ur drip into a 5gal bucket and time it to get an idea. Highly recommend using pressure regulated emitters and also a pressure gauge to monitor the psi in ur drip lines.

I gauge my constant drop tanks as a rate that would fill the tank after ten days.

Weigh a cup, drip into it for one minute, and weigh again. Take the difference in weight and multiply by sixty then twenty four then ten. That should equal the total weight of water in your tank (plus sump if any). Much easier to do in metric.

Auto WC are the best.

What are the dimensions of your tank?

Where are you dripping the excess out to?

Curious to see your sump set up
