Great Build................

I was wondering if this goop will work also, in another post you said marine goop was the Best. I found this on ebay just wondering if it will work, i like it because the tubes are bigger..
Thanks
I honestly don't know. The GOOP that I used looks very different from your pic. Your goop looks like it wouldn't be "runny" which is a good thing. Marine goop are made to withstand ultraviolet rays that usually weakens non-marine glues so its always good to use.

Yeah they had the little tubes like you showed(somewhere is this thread) but then i seen liitle tubes of marine goop, and then these babys...
figured it would be easier to work with and not have to open as many tubes..,
Guess when the time comes to bui;d my tank ill they it out because i really liked the way you did yours..

Overflows, wet/drys, filtration.. but ill be reading, been planing my tank, but i want to read as much as i can before i Jump in..

Congratulations on the completion of a great looking setup. I really appreciate that you put in all your ideas the ones that worked and the ones that didn't, so we all can learn and hopefully recreate the ones that did and avoid the ones that didn't. I have you know that your fish look great and I would like to have some of my own, but sadly they are banned here in the states.

I decided to build the Santamonikca style denitrator although I have doubts about the amount of humidity it will create and the energy it requires to run compared to the coil dnitrator. But it will be an easy convertion/add-on to my existing filter box that I have to give it a try.

I have to cut the upper part of the filter devider of my filter box.

then put in my light fixture. I got the screen from dolar store. I am using 4 - 26W CFL floodlights (1600 lumens each). Total cost including CFL bulbs $50.

I did my first screen cleaning in my scrubber. half of the screen is covered with green algea, didn't get any brown algea as I was expecting. Reason for cleaning it early is that I saw quite a bit of green algea at the bottom of the screen, algea that were dislodged from the sceen. My flow is strong, 3600 gph, in less than three feet wide. lowered my flow temporarirly and planning on building an overflow pipe to divert flow from the scruber then I can rum my pump full again. Also will be building a more sturdier plastic screen for the scrubber and will be slanting it a bit .

Yeah I still have to build my filter media rack and the wall enclosure and the electricals..... I am thinking of adding a sub-panel for my electrical since I am also renovating my basement. or maybe I'll just change my breakers to tandemn ones if I get lazy.
Feel free to hit me up for any electrical questions. Ive been a journeyman electrician HVAC guy for 5 years :) Excellent build btw I went back and read from page 1 . You have a very creative and intelligent build here .

Yeah they are on. I still don't have enough lighting in there though. I'll be adding a few flourescent bulbs latter. Another issue is my camera, its an old one and flash could not be turned off :D
id reccomend a penn zephyr z-6 or z8

I have two 400 watt HPS and two 600 HPS air ventilated hoods with bulbs and digital ballasts if you need them let me know :)

yeah, and modest as well, on that hydroponics idea, try a cash crop, we had some people here doing that very successfully, till they got caught and went to jail.lol:ROFL:
the lights that I just mentioned were in police evidence locker for 6 months for a reason. I beat the case though being a medical patient and serving strictly terminally ill patients in hospice care.
