What would be the recommended tank size for a Aba Aba knifefish? And is it true that its impossible to keep tankmates with them?

If u plan to keep for life then 500g plus. There have been a few people able to lee with large tankmates but most of the time will not tolerate other fish.

500 gal or so, they hate tankmates when young,they hate tankmates even more as adults.

I'd say in between, they don't seem to care if they're seen or not.

Normally hide and active at night. Come from muddy waters. Can be active in the day as well. Need a hide usually to be a little more comfortable.

Mine is not agressive at all. Leaves all other fish alone, some much smaller than him.
