Hello.. Looking for some advise on the next tank. My current tank is a 96x20x24. I made a rookie mistake and gave the tank priority over everything and now the house is not really flowing. It feels odd with the tank in the middle of the living/dining room area with everything else. Plus, I end up having to move furniture forward to get inside the cabinet. Figured I get a new and bigger tank with my new knowledge which will look better in the house.
I have a section in the living room which I basically don’t use and I think it will be perfect but need some input from the experts. The area which I plan for the tank: the wall measures 92.5 inches and there is a window in a middle which the tank can cover.
I can go 36 even 40 inches deep with no issues and was thinking up to 27-30 inches tall. Don’t want to go deeper since it will be even more a pain to take care or maybe not, not sure.
My real issue is the length of the tank. If I ask my acrylic builder to create a 91 or 92 inch tank the left side will not have room for a MP 40. A gyre will work and I also thought about a close loop to compensate for this. I also have the sliding door to the right side, which going over is not issue but I believe it make look odd. Also thought about 84 inches and forgetting about the whole 8ft tank fascination if having a deeper and/or taller tank would be better.
This will continue to be a reef tank
Thanks for any input.
