I live in Calgary, Canada, and an LFS has brought to batches of them in in the last year or so. They come in around 4.5" or so (roughly from memory) and I believe he was selling them for $30 each. He does online ordering (sorry, only Canadian shipping addresses at this time). Bookmark him and check him out:

He doesn't advertise much of his fish online. U should really email him for pricing. I just bought a 5" Merodontus tigrinus for $300.00!!! He is by FAR the cheapest LFS in town, and he is a true hobbyist, selling only healthy fish. Online you will see the Hampla Barbs that grow pretty huge 2'+.

If you would rather have me keep an eye out for them, just let me know. I go there about 1-2x/week, as his shop is a 5 minute drive from my house. He does bring in monsters from time to time. He has got 2 5" electric eels if anyone is interested..think they were $50 each. Bringing in more RTCxMarmoratus - 3" for 39.99. Picked up my 8" Queen Angel for $125.00. You get the picture.....cheap, cheap, cheap place..and high grade fish.
