Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I was wondering which fish would be best I just set up a new tank and wanted to know what the most aggressive fish with a max size of roughly 12" maybe a bit more I like fish that show strong and aggressive predatory behaviour perhaps even attack the glass? And nasty looking teeth are a huge plus I've run through a lot of idea's in my head but can't decide

*Piranha (need quite sometime for them to come out of their shell)
*FATF (nasty teeth looking but skittish)
*Red tail barracudas (need a shoal but also skittish)
*Wolf fish species but they not really show impressive teeth structural but fearless like Curupira or Aimara these wolf quite too big for your requirement.
**I can't remember what's else out there with nasty behave/toothy and stay below 12 inches, lets see what other members opinions.

Thought about piranhas some red bellied available where I am but have heard they will be skittish as singletons? Also thought about the others tempted by wolf fish but unsure which species? How about a scomb payara? Basically I want something that will be a good show at feeding time preferably active otherwise but not too bothered

*Scomb very skittish and has short life, when you start enjoy it then it's just drop dead all of sudden.
*Red Bellied Piranha is a schooling Piranha, you will need more than 5 to keep the aggression between them under control.
*Serrasalmus Elongatus Piranha is solo species and it has bold character but extremely slow growth rate.

Serrasalmus elongatus has been one I've been considering are they imported into the UK regularly? At which size? And are there any similar piranha species as far as aggression? Oh and are any species above likely to attack the glass or follow your finger?

Depend on each fish character but most likely only Serrasalmus elongatus will chase your finger around, I'm not sure about England but the size usually on sale around 5~6 inches (England member here will help/tell you where to get it).

Thanks a lot! Are any other predatory characins suitable? Or perhaps some sort of bottom dweller? Is there a piranha species that has similar behaviour with the red bellies colouration?

Oh, I forgot about Red Tail Payara, It's toothy species. :)
There are few schooling Piranha but RBP is more common and ready available in most LFS where its legal to own.
*Don't forget to check out the Piranha and other characins section here, you will get plenty information :)

If u like very agresive fish you can't go wrong with aimara.
But he get very big. This teeth and power....
