I just got him yestarday. He ate a molly fish . So i was just curious if they eat pellets that's all.

That’s a 100% gator weird angle but if you owned one you’d know. Their unmistakable. As far as pellets goes they are gars. They are hungry, they are monsters, they will eat anything start with Hikari floating sticks then adv. starve it for a day or three not gonna die

By the way they can live in low oxygen environments as they actually gulp air.

Manas you can feed him a diet of cut fish.
He will be happier than eating pellets and it’s easy.
Go to your local fish market or grocery buy what’s fresh catfish, tilapia,cod whatever
I feed tilapia because it’s cheaper.
Cut it into appreciate size pieces spread it evenly in plastic bag and freeze. Then when you need to feed it you can break off a few pieces and thaw and feed.

I think its a characin because it was sold as "spotted", something you see a lot with them.

Yes that and from the pic. "Spotted Pike", "Spotted Gar" ect pop up a lot on here and at my lfs and are usually (key word) characins.
