well since i work in a grocery store every now and thhen when i pass the seafood department i see the lobster tank and since im homies with the sea food guys i go back there sometimes and chat or look at the lobster tank.

im wondering as i watch them in the seafood tank...........can they be kept as pets in an aquarium?

i really am not sure, the lobsters in these tanks are doomed to a pot of boiling water so i really am not sure how well they would do long term in an aquarium, if i was to buy one and keep it in a tank.

any info on them in the hobby? i might go ballz out and actually do it one day.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to think of this. Look at it this way, you can try it. If it dies then just get some butter and a pot.

Might as well try it.. will you get bored having a lobster for a pet?

Public Aquariums do it all the time - and they are just like saltwater crayfish, just huge :)

Also, they have been kept and bred in a lab successfully. Yes, you can do it!

i keep a couple crayfish from the bait store in with my cichlids, sometimes they still becomin food

Keep 'em mid 50s to mid 60s (F). Provide a few caves to hide in and make sure you don't have any trace Copper in the water. Other than that, they are easy to keep. We've got two right now at our place.
