I know, I know, not another stocking question! But in this case, google is not being my friend. I'm not finding anything solid, but I am also finding no blatant warnings either.

I am looking for a fish that is smallish, colourful and will stay near the top of the tank. A dwarf gourami (or even a few) fits this bill, but I wonder how they do with angelfish.

Anyone have any experience keeping these two together? Any observations?

That was my first tank, oh so many years ago. It was a 20 gallon show tank, so very tall. I had no issues with the gouramis harrassing the angels in it.

I have an angelfish and a honey gourami together in a 60 gallon community tank filled with tetras. I put both of them in as juveniles and have not had a problem.

So it sounds like adding them both as juveniles and/or adding the dwarf gourami first will avoid any problems. I may just go ahead with this if I can find a healthy supply of dwarf gouramis.

Now I just have to wait for my tank to finish cycling! *sits on floor and stares at tank*

I've had gouramis and angels as well. it was also my first tank and I don't recall any issue's I just started another angel tank and also am thinking about getting some gouramis, but don't want any thing to throw off the balance of the tank.....The bad thing is my old angel tank was such a long time ago but I'm 90% sure there were no issue's

I have 3 Angelfish and a 2 spot gourami. No problems except when breeding.
