Any good chiclid lure suggestions

Im looking for good lures for oscars and mayans however if you have any suggestions for tilapia especially red belly that would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you are talking about fishing the florida canals. Have you tried bubble and a dead cricket.

Also small plastic lures might work that imitate bait fish. I caught a Dovii in Costa Rica on a small swimbait with a tiny lead-head.

dog food worked great! i just threw some in a canal and all the fish were going crazy

If u do it often with bread and low fat dog food u can see a real increase in both length and body condition.

I remember a fishing show when I was a kid, I think it was Jimmy Houston and they were in FL catching Oscars and I THINK they were using Roadrunnners or something similar to it, I definitely remember a small curly-tail grub on a jighead, but I forget what the rest of the rig consisted of ......

My suggestion is try the different variations until you find one that works - Roadrunner, In-line Spinner w/ Grub trailer, and Beetle Spin w/ Curly-tail
