Any Reeflo pump rebuilders in here????

Wondering if anyone in here works on their Reeflo pumps???? I have some questions.....

A) DID they start using cheaper bearings in the pumps that have heat sinks on the motors??? 30x10x9 MM bearings..... These are a size in between the smaller bearings in the AO Smith motors and the larger bearings in the larger diameter Baldor motors (motor not much smaller then the volute). I;m into another locked up pump and this thing NEVER leaked..... Bearing just seized. This is right after splitting a Dart Gold that had a seized front bearing but assumed the failure was due to water intrusion but the second pump (grey heat sinked motor) with the same seized bearing never leaked. IF these are problomatic its not a big deal, will just get a bunch to keep on hand. I had to source these locally and was not fun. This is concerning as I have several of these newer pumps in service and I'm splitting these more often then the ol reliables that run trouble free for years -BUT apparently use different sized bearings then what I already bought a few decades of.

B) HOW often does the impeller NEED replaced? Seems they split where the motor shaft threads into them. My concern is if the shaft is digging into them causing them to split and threading in deeper is this changing the preload on the seal enough to create extra drag on the motor and/or possibly premature seal failure???

C) Has anyone found better/more reliable pumps with similar performance for similar money???

C) Magnetic drive pumps, no bearing issues. Iwaki do some large ones.

Nope, no bearings...... Just plastic housings that leak and swell, impellers that seize when a spec of anything get on them, impeller shafts that break, constant need for descaling, stray voltage issues, and the constant desire to self destruct. Reminds me of new cars...... :(

Looks like those Iwakis are $700+ and don't even come with a motor....... Could probably run 4-5 darts for the same power consumption if those pumps START at 1/2hp. Could probably buy that many used ones or more for the same price as well.....

I was pushed to external pumps decades ago when I couldn't keep a pondmaster alive for 2 years straight....... Some of the Reeflos I replaced them with have been in service ever since. I buy used pumps and go through them. I don't usually have bearing issues after I redo them, problems usually happen when seals start dribbling and people ignore it, then pull the pump off and sell it as "good with no issues" then I buy them and get to deal with broken bolts/screws upon trying to get to the failed bearings - usally all caused by the leaking seal. Some even come with sad attempts of drilling out broken screws then covering with silly cone. :( But at the end of the day I'd rather trust my work rebuilding then keep tossing money at pumps that need replaced every few years cause they aren't rebuildable, and replacing fish that die as a result of a submersible tripping a breaker.

I'm hesitant to believe a mag drive is going to push through a decent sized sand filter.

Have a brand new hammerhead collecting dust over here if ud like it 💀🤙… dm me. Its still in the original packaging. NOS from 2012-2013
Unfortunately I think that might be a bit much for my lil guy sand filters..... Unless its a hybrid and has a smaller impeller!?!??! Would be a great backup for my water change stations though, they use monster pumps....
