I voted for the Penguin 400 because I'm obsessed with the bio-wheels! and you can almost buy two of them for the price of one aquaclear. This girl loves me some bio-wheels

I have both and the Aqua clear is hands down twice the filter the penguin is. Maybe that's why they cost twice as much. lol

I have 3 AC110's and 4 Emp 400's and like both for their size, flow, and longevity. When shopping for a hob whichever I can find on sale gets my vote. I would have to give the nod to the AC110 because of the foam block and ceramics. The first thing I do with a new 400 is replace the cartridges with cut to fit floss, and add ceramics to the media baskets.

aquaclear is the better filter 100 percent ive used both i only voted for the emperor because like abby ru said you can get 2 for the price of 1 aqua clear ive found the emperors for 25 dollars once or twice and always manage to buy the store stock. never know when you are gonna need them, if money isnt an issue buy the aquaclear

Even though I like the Bio wheel on Marineland filters the Aqua Clear hands down is better in performance imo.
