I was wondering if Arapaima gigas are hard to keep in a home aquarium I know you have to have a very big tank.

honestly anything less than a pond is too small

There's a few guys keeping them in indoor tanks, but rest assured, they've spent $100k +. This is not only not a fish for beginners, it's not a fish even for experts, as they seem fairly hardy. Due to it's incredible size, it's a fish for the WEALTHY.

It will up your bills alot, giant tank=$$$. Big water changes=$$$ big food bill=$$$ and $$$= happy arapaima :). Other than that they are pretty hardy exclusing the younger months where the majority of them have their problems as they are more sensitive.
