I picked up a large 15" female marmorata from the Rio Tapajos. I beleive she originally belonged to chiefmojo. She is doing well and eating pellets like no tommorow. She has also made a nice breeding den under some driftwood. I was looking to see if I could find a large male to possibly pair with her. However I have not found any marmoratas for sale anywhere. Especially any from rio tapajos of decent size to pair with her. Anyone have any ideas or know where I could find one I would appreciate it.

Here are so,me pics you can see the area she cleared under the driftwood on the left side of the tank.

Oliver at Belowwater gets them in on occasion. Other than that I haven't seen them anywhere.

ur fish looks really good

Thanks for all the comments guys. Over the past couple days she is starting to defend her den under the driftwood and her belly is turning a pinkish hue. I really think she would take a mate if I could find one.

Yup thats my old girl. She looks good in your tank. Marmoratas have been pretty hard to get for a while. But they do become available once in a while. When they do jump on it. Be prepared that they are extreemly hard to mate. Good luck.

Nice marm. Good luck finding a male.

Beautiful fish, good luck with finding any though, I have ben looking for a couple years now, and have had no luck. Thought I had found some a while back but when the fish arrived it was the wrong species the vendor sent me. P----d me of something terrible...
