Arowana fin damage help

Hi guys, so I decided to move my 6 inch gold arowana to a bigger grow out tank literally just across the room. I didn't have a bag handy so I thought I would use a standard aquarium net... He only wiggled about 5 times and not even violently, not even 20 seconds passed and he was in the bigger tank. BUT TO MY SURPRISE HIS FINS WERE MOSTLY GONE AFTER COMING OUT THE NET. Like seriously, I did not know they were this fragile!!! Just wondering what I can do to heal faster and if anyone had this happen before? Will he survive? It looks so bad. So pissed off right now.

I've never seen anything like that. When was the last time you checked your water parameters? How often do you do wc's?

Water change once or twice a week. As for parameters I have not checked in a while but all my other tanks with fish have been great. He's doing fine swimming around right now but just without fins... I'll buy some melafix I guess?
