hello, my ~3yr old arowana, ~24" suddenly started swimming tail down with a bend in his back. It's not excessive, but something I've noticed with the last week or so. He's still eating, swimming, alert, etc. but I wanted to see if this was something to be concerned about?

The tank is 225g bow front... water specs: ph 6, ammonia .25, nitrite 0, nitrate high, temp ~80.

I recently did a 2 filter cartridge changes, three days ago or so, with a 15% water change, which I think may have spiked the nitrate levels since they were all within normal parameters prior to the changes.

I just changed my other two cartridges today. I also added crushed coral to start bringing the PH up as well.

Working on getting the water parameters back within range, but the arow is used to low PH, seems to be my 'normal' water and an issue in all of my tanks, not making excuses, but not a sudden change or shock either.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

What is the ph range out of the tap?
It comes out at 7, but I've been told that the water doesn't hold up as well due to being hard or soft (I can't remember which)... I always treat the water obviously, but since moving to this present home, low PH has been present in my tanks that never before had, I treat with crushed coral, but it has never really bothered the fish... even this arow, he's never been bothered, and even now good appetite, activity and slime coat, etc but I just don't like how he's presently swimming... he seems unbothered all together, maybe just me?

Those are his pelvic find not poo.... just to clarify.... and he eats hikari carni jumbo sticks... only pellet food

Ok great to hear btw the Aro looks fine to but you personally see it every day. As long as the Aro has a great appetite I personally would not worry.

Silver a rod come from south america, they prefer a lower ph. I would stop trying to change your tap water. A stable ph is much more important got the fish
