Considering getting a "dragon eel" from Petsmart for my office tank. The are actually senegal bichirs. Quite small at the store - 3-4 inches long. What would I feed it at this size? I know when they get bigger then things like brine shrimp, small ghost shrimp, guppy (or other) fry, etc. and maybe even small feeders. But what about when they are this small?

Anything! Mine ate cichlid pellets, catfish pellets and evan algae waffers (which he picks up and swims off with)! They are really greedy! Good luck
They basically eat anything that will fit in their mouths....guppys, frozen brine, frozed beefheart....Even some freeze dried krill or brine will be just fine!

At such a small size, if its possible try to feed a few small meals throughout the day.

live feeders ie. guppys (after quarantine) froen bloodworms pelletized foods (cut or broken in half)small pieces of coktail shrimp cut into strips,ghost shrimp(if they are small) earthworms cut up into bite size pieces-Anne
Ppl in my country are usually using baby catfish to feed their 3-4 inch bichirs...and their had no problem hunting + consuming.
Personally, I make a practice of avoiding live feeders as much as possible. I've always found that frozen bloodworms make an excellent food for small bichirs along with occasional frozen beef heart. Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellets, broken into bite-sized pieces are the main food for my small bichirs. Earthworms, cut into appropriate sizes, also make an almost irresistable food for the little guys.

bichirs aren't picky eaters, would eat almost anything from live to frozen, when your gong to feed live foods make sure to quarantine first, frozen there are lost of variety from saltwater fishes from wet markets, squid, shrimps, frogs, clams, and you can also feed pellets
