I’ve him for about a week now and have been adding bloodworms/brineshrimp in every night and scooping out uneaten food. Problem is, he seems very interested and eats it only to spit it out 5 seconds later. Everytime he swallows, an air bubble leaves his mouth, he spits the food out as if hes choking and gulps for air. I turn the light off and dont know if he eats then but im a little worried about him. Is there a way to see if his belly is full? Is it in the first 1/3 of his body? What do you think is going on? Is he just adjusting? ips? Doesnt like the food? Thanks.

Not sure what’s going on? Was eating from where u purchased it? What was it eating prior? Was it treated for ips? Could be ips and small e-eels are very sensitive. I’d suggest adding some live and quarantined ghost shrimp for now. Keep count and find out what it was eating. Maybe consider some levamisole (1/2 dose and slowly increase to fully dose with repeat treatment)if cont not to eat.

Maybe he is eating? His front 1/3 seems to be pretty full. What do you think?

I made sure to ask beforehand and they claimed it was feeding on bloodworms which is what I used. Thats whats got me concerned.

Nevermind guys! I figured out the problem. A family member just let me know that the power went out in the garage where I keep my bloodworms a few days ago And so they may have gone bad. I bought some new ones today and he ate them in the daytime! Phew!
