Baby Ornate Bichir With Red Stomache

Hi, I’m new to this form and I just recently got a baby Ornate Bichir. Today I was cleaning Dragons tank when I noticed her belly Looked irritated and bright red. I googled Ornate Bichir stomache irritation and saw a form that talked about Bichirs having red irritation around their anal fin because of indigestion issues.
I might just be paranoid but She’s been acting weird lately like showing interest in food but not eating. I recharged her tank because I thought that maybe she couldnt smell the worms but I’m really worried about her stomache.

Was the aquarium fully cycled prior to adding the Ornate Bichir?
What do you mean by recharging?
What type of substrate is in the aquarium?

Looks like one of those pesky infections. Salt and praziquantel should do the trick.

I dont really know about Cycling I have well water and I’ve always just let my fish get acclimated then let them into the tank.
I have her on sand and I didn’t mean to say recharged I meant to say re cleaned. She’s eating now and seems fine but she still has a rash.

Hello! Any updates on the ornate? I had a similar sized ornate with an open wound on it, but it appears that your ornate has more of a "rash" like you said. Welcome to the poly section!
