Someone posted a link to http://www.aquatraders.com/LED-Freshwater-Bright-p/56205.htm not long ago. At the time I was looking to go all LED to save some money on my electric bill. I was using T5's which were very nice and hot as well. So I got 6 of these, the last they had. 4 for my 500, 1 for the 265 but need another for it and 1 for my 125. As you can see in the photos, the do very well. These were very cheap, $68 for a 48" LED light. I paid $60 for a 24" T5 and every shop I called quoted me between $125 and $300 for 48" LED lights.

Looks good man. I'm considering these for the 240. How do they feel durability wise? Chinsy plastic, or are they pretty sturdy feeling?

Ever end up getting a bead filter for that 500G?

Sure didnt, I just sold all my rays, too much for me to handle without the proper filtration and limited space on this apt. They are built very well. I'm not sure if its aluminum or a type of plastic but whatever it is, its very nice. They are very slim compared to the NOVAs. Mine have white, blue, and moonlights. You can use the white light only, blue only, both or just the moonlights. I recommend them.

Sorry to hear about you having to get rid of the rays man. They were awesome. Planning on a big cat or something? There was a guy in N. Indiana selling a firewood (planiceps) cat. It'd be a sweet addition to that 500G of yours.

And thanks for the posts on those LED's. I'll be getting them. Saved me some $ over buying the T5's I was looking at.
