So I have a new silver Aro that is approx 10+ inches and not pellet trained he is under weight but does eat. I have had success with silversides, live minnows, bloodworms, and chicken heart. I have offered him ocean free Aro pellets and he has NO interest at all. He also has no interest for krill or shrimp of any type. I opened a can of Hai Feng Ever Nature Arowana Pellets last night and he ATE them!!! What's the opinion of these pellets are they a good quality? I really want to feed him the best foods and stay away from live.

+1 on the Hikari
My Black Aro and Florida Gars are on Hikari Floating Pallets and my Polys are on Hikari Carnivores Sinking Pallets.
They love em.

Yea I use Hakari for my cichlids. Actually I mix about 10different types of pellets in a container and they get a variety feeding that way. I just saw this food that he has now and it smells super fishy I got it from an Asian fish store bu never heard of the brand before.

As long as he is eating pellets stick with that kind.. and maybe even stuff some into the other foods he eats... pellets of any kind have nutrition everything else i consider a treat.

Hikari is a very good brand and their food is top notch. but their prices have made me kind of avoid them.. its like 70$ a kg (tropical food sticks) for me here in india.. and it will hardly last me like a week with the number of fish i have.. i've been looking at other options like commercial fish food.. they come in bulk and have almost the same level of nutrients etc that ornamental fish feed have.. when i compare pricing its like 30$ for a 50 kg bag.. well the other thing is making them eat the pellets :) you could prob look up some commercial fish food and if possible get some samples and try it too.. cheers

Ma 11+ hates pellets and feeds only on shrimps
while ma 9 inch loves both. The pellet i give him is JBL novo - Dragon.

Give him what he likes.. thats best for the fish i guess

I got my silver at about 4", he took Hikari Floating Sticks since the first day I brought him home. He's growing like a weed and about 8" now.
