Soft sponge or magic eraser.

The tank is not filled, and I just did a water test. I want to clean it out. I’ve been using the backside of a soft sponge to scrape off some weird white particles. Never heard of a terry towel.

Terry cloth is just a soft cotton towel. Magic erasers are great at removing build up but the ARE abrasive and they WILL live microscratches in acrylic. Magic erasers are my preferred tank cleaning tool BUT ONLY FOR GLASS TANKS.

For calcium build up I fill the tank with hot water and a few gallons of white vinegar. I use a powerhead to keep the water moving. Every hour or so I will wipe over the deposits with a soft (terry cloth) towel to help remove the build up. I almost always end up finishing the job with some Novus Coarse then some Novus Fine polish to get a nice clear surface.
