Hi guys,

I'm just about to finalise the delivery of the new tank inhabitants, on way are:

1 x Delhezi @ 4:
1 x Endlicheri @ 4"
1 x 4 bar Indo Dat @ 4"
3 x Tinfoils at unknown size as of yet
And 1 x Hepsetus Odoe as soon as I can source one locally.

My question is, although the Bichir and Dat are at approximately the same size, with the growth rate difference is there likely to be an issue with the 2 once the Bichir overtake the Dat?

Thanks in advance

If the indo datnoid is larger than half the size of the endlicheri when they start out. It's fine. I've done 4" size dats with my 18-21" poly group. Have an indo about 4.5" in there now. It has been safe, but lost one a several years ago at 3".

Thanks, good to know and a little reassuring.

They will be around equal size so hopefully they'll be ok.

I've been offered a Platinum Senegal with the order but conflicted on taking it, it's obviously more money and as this is my first time keeping Bichir I'd hate to loose it with beginners mistakes!

What's the guide price for a 4/5" Platinum Senegal?

Well it's a lot less than 400usd! Decisions decisions.

It'll be a 180 (30" wide) to start, new tank expected next Feb when we move.

The tinfoils are not set in stone if space will be an issue, more of a tank filler around the middle and to help pellet train. If any other species that will be compatible of comparable size can be kept solo I'm definitely open to that.

I do have a couple pics, I'll post one.
I have no reason to distrust the seller, just very little experience with them to know what I'm looking at.

Sorry for the pic orientation

Plat senegal about 400-600 usd. For me as a starter. I'd get some congicus, wild caught endlis, or whatever wharf aquatics has :)

I've not seen platinum Senegal in the U.K!
