so I went to a local fish store last week and was checking out the tanks and saw a HUGE cory..was around 4"..
Do some corys get that big? Since I've only seen 1 or 2" in a tank.

He was around 20". Looked like a girragenosed catfish..with the spots and the nose.. I think he was either orange or yellow-ish.
And his name was something like "pangasius....."
I'm sure it wasn't pangasius though..lol

Any idea what you think this guy was?

Hopolo cats get big for a cory. The other might be a girrafe cat, I'm getting ready to go on vacation or I would give some more info, but it's a starting point, good luck.

I'll try to go check next week...if they're still there.lol

If it looks at all like this, it was a giraffe catfish ~Trent

I've seen sterbai cory's around 3" so I 2nd the large cory or hoplo catfish idea

could of not been a cory but one of them larger things starts with b like barbus or sumthin.

i've seen some big emerald corys

Members of the Brochis genus can grow quite large. Could have been one of those.

Brochis multiradiatus

Hoplosternum are also members of the Callichthyidae family (along with the brochis and corydoras) and reach a fairly large size. Hoplosternum littorale can reach 8".

Or it could be you saw a completly unrelated species of fish. Many members of the African Mochokidae family look similer to corys.

Hey thanks everyone and sandtiger!
it was a Brochis multiradiatus!

i am pretty sure..I thought it had spots though..haha
is $20 the average cost for that fish(same size as picture too!)

It might not be B. multiradiatus, there are other species of brochis as well and they look fairly similer.
