After months of waiting, I have finally moved the king into his new home.
Upgraded from his grow out tank to a 120cm x 45cm x 60cm tank!
Should hopefully be in here for the rest of his life.
Currently hates me for getting him into a net, will shoot into his log when he sees me coming.
looking to get him a Coal Grunter for a tankmate, so if you have one available in Sydney PM me.
Has some Kangaroo creek Crimson spotted rainbows in, but will be long gone before he gets big.

beautifull but did you know they get 90cm -1.5meter? i dont think that 1.2 meter tank is good for an adult 1.5meter fish. So you def would need to upgrade again.
(not my photo just found it)

Cool. What species of eeltail catfish exactly are we talking about here?

Plotosus canius we kept. Its common name is gray eeltail catfish but this is of course not reliable.

Our pair grew to 2.5 ft / 75 cm in about 3 years.

Yep, all the Tandans.
what an amazing fish, i keep learning more. they are relatives to the striped catfish in the ocean. Could these be housed in groups of 15? And would they school?
I know the striped cave eelcatfish do that but do these behave similar?

You’d need a pretty big tank to have 15. They don’t naturally school as they are scavengers. Check out Australian Native Fishes for Aquariums for some good Info
