Black Marks On Blood Parrot! Help!

Amag1997

Feeder Fish
I recently have gotten 3 blood parrots and they have a tank to themselves. Within the past 2 weeks I have noticed that one of them was getting black marks and it continues to get bigger and bigger on my blood parrot. I have read up that blood parrots usually get the marks through illness, stress or mating but my fish are not old enough for mating so it has to be either stress or illness which I'm assuming. Today I bough more background plants for them to hide in and got aquarium salt to try to relieve its stress or its sickness. Is there anyway to tell if it's the black spot disease or just stress?

Update 2/3/17: my smallest blood parrot is now getting black markings around its head. There is only one blood parrot left that has no black spots in this tank! What should I do?!

Perfectly normal...maybe a little stress to their new environment. Depending on each fish, black marks come and go. I've had mature faders that get them from time to time.

As long as they're eating, nothing to worry about.
