I found an electric Blue crayfish in my ditch, in Brooklet, Ga. My house is near a lake and wetland with lots of creatures, but this is the first time I've seen a blue crayfish before.
I looked them up and they are apparently native to the Everglades. Could it be invase or just someone dumped their pet in the lake?

It’s probably native. I believe some normal crayfish have the blue gene in them but it’s pretty rare I think.

Is it the bright blue you’d see with the “electric blue” crayfish, or is it more of a muted color. I’m pretty sure the bright ones are man made, but there is a natural blue morph for them (it’s where we get the bright color in the first place).
maybe it will breed wth the natives and therell be hybrids. That would be cool.
That’s a great way to destroy a natural population…

It was bright blue with dark blue spot/patterns. I've been trying to upload the picture for the past 20 minutes, but I can't figure it out.
